Katy Perry sent terminally ill teenager a message following social media campaign
Members of an Island charity have spoken of their pride after a pop star sent a terminally ill teenager a message.
Katy Perry contacted 13-year-old Sophie Birtles following a social media campaign.
Sophie, who suffers from a rare genetic condition, is being cared for at Rebecca House as her health deteriorates.
Kirrie Norton from the charity and Margaret Simpson and Amy Davenport from Hospice IOM - say putting a smile on a patient's face is what makes their job worthwhile:

'Essential' that school staff recognise the signs of an allergic reaction
'High' risk of wildfires over the next week
'Come From Away' to continue after cast member injured during rehearsal
'Parks in worse state then when I started' says Peel commissioner
