
A formal pledge will be made today by the Manx government to protect the interests of Island service men and women.
A community covenant will be signed by Chief Minister Allan Bell and a senior army officer at a ceremony in Douglas this afternoon.
The historic document recognises the contribution armed forces make to their communities and the social needs of service people, both veterans and those currently in the forces.
The British Legion has long campaigned for the Island to endorse a military covenant.
