As the grouse shooting season in England and Scotland gets into full swing, efforts to conserve bird species on the Island's moors are paying dividends.
A voluntary ban on grouse shooting has been in place in the Isle of Man since 1993, in an effort to increase numbers of red grouse and birds of prey - such as peregrines, buzzards and harriers.
The start of the grouse shooting season in the UK last week highlighted divisions between shooters and opponents, who want the sport banned.
A syndicate group with shooting rights on the Island's southern hills is now focused on conservation.
