24-year-old admits criminal damage
A Douglas woman has been remanded at the Isle of Man Prison after throwing a brick through the window of a property.
Courtney Siobhan Regan, of Snaefell Road, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where she admitted causing criminal damage.
Police were called to a property on Hillside Avenue, just before 8.30pm on Tuesday (11 June), and after investigating handed it over to the occupier’s partner who was attempting to make it safe.
He went upstairs to check if anything had been taken in the incident and, upon entering the spare bedroom, heard a ‘snoring’ noise as well as a woman saying ‘leave me alone’.
The man found the 24-year-old underneath the bed.
She was arrested and taken to Police Headquarters where she told officers she had no recollection of the incident and didn’t know the property or who it belonged to.
Regan’s advocate told the court: “It is opportunistic. It wasn’t pre-meditated in any way.”
An application for bail was refused and Regan was remanded at the Isle of Man Prison until her next court appearance on 18 June.
Update: At Douglas Courthouse on 14 August Regan was told she will be sentenced on 27 August.
