Police appeal for witnesses
A 27-year-old man from the UK was killed in a crash on the Mountain Road on Saturday evening.
The motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a car.
It happened at around 7.30pm, near its junction with the Brandywell road, and is the second fatal collision involving a car and motorcycle in this area in just over 48 hours.
The car's occupants were taken to hospital for treatment, but were released later that evening.
Police want to speak to anyone that was in the area around the time of the incident - if you saw what happened, or have any information that could help their investigation, call police headquarters on 631212.
Officers are also thanking members of the public who helped the emergency services at the scene.
