A 91-year-old woman died in a flat fire in Peel overnight on Wednesday, police have confirmed.
They add a man from the same property on Battery Road is in a serious condition in Noble's Hospital.
Officers have passed on their condolences to the family and request they are afforded privacy at this difficult time.
Also, they again ask that people refrain from speculating about the fire as the investigation is still ongoing.
