Why are younger people leaving?
A researcher and author has warned a gap in the population of younger Manx residents will be noticeable for years to come.
Paul Craine has spent years compiling data on population trends.
Data from the 2016 census showed a clear decline of around 1,200 citizens over a five year period - a large part of which was blamed on younger people leaving the Island.
Mr Craine will speak at a public meeting of the Positive Action Group tomorrow night, to discuss potential solutions to what government has termed population 'challenges'.
He says the figures represent more than just a 'blip', and the shift in the lower age range is particularly concerning:
