Cause thought to be the 'auto ignition' of clothes removed from a tumble dryer
Firefighters in the south of the Island have been responding to a fire in Ballasalla this morning.
The blaze was contained to a bedroom, and crew members were said to have extinguished it quickly.
It's thought the cause was the 'auto ignition' of hot clothes that had been taken out of a tumble dryer, which can be caused by residual oils left in clothing.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service is advising people to allow their dryers to finish their full cycle, to avoid overloading and to regularly clean the lint filter.
