Laws to ban discrimination against disabled people welcomed by charities
The return of laws to ban discrimination against disabled people in the Island is being welcomed by local charities.
The Disability Discrimination Act will be brought into operation next year, after government announced a delay to the new Equality Bill.
The DDA was originally passed in 2006, but has never been implemented.
Last week, Tynwald voted to bring the Act back to give disabled people rights in public life, until Equality legislation reaches the statute book.
