A man from London is to be extradited from Spain over allegations he helped Dale Cregan, the man who murdered Manx-educated policewoman Fiona Bone.
The man, who hasn't been named, was arrested by police on the Costa Del Sol on suspicion of conspiring to assist an offender.
Meanwhile, a Preston man who made what a court heard were ‘despicable’ remarks about Fiona and her colleague Nicola Hughes has been given a 12 week prison sentence suspended for 18 months
40 year old Paul Threlfall made the comments at the Royal Preston Hospital as he ranted at police and paramedics in August.
Threlfall had suffered a cut on his head and Preston Magistrates heard he'd abused paramedics and police at the scene of his accident, at the hospital and later at Preston Police Station.
Prosecutors said he'd used ‘despicable language’ and made “upsetting references to a tragic incident involving the death of two police officers”.
Threlfall admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
He was also ordered to pay £50 compensation to each of the people he'd abused.
