Loganair MD says talks must be part of long-term plan
No deal has been agreed yet between Loganair and government on flights to London City over the festive period.
An announcement is expected in the next week.
Airline MD Jonathan Hinkles confirmed talks were being held about the route, but he stressed any agreement 'must be part of a long-term plan'.
Flights to London City stop at the end of November, but you can still book routes to Liverpool and Manchester beyond this date.
Loganair stepped in to provide the route between the Island, Liverpool and Manchester when Flybe collapsed in March,
Speaking to weekly e-journal 'anna.aero', Mr Hinkles says the Isle of Man 'is an increasingly important part of its network'.
It remains to be seen whether a route to the UK capital will connect to London City or Heathrow.
It's understood government has a 'long-standing ambition' to restart the latter.
Mr Hinkles said Loganair has had a request for Heathrow slots approved in October.
In April the airline did operate routes from the Island to the UK's busiest airport to keep a connection running, while London City was temporarily closed.
