Temporary five-year change of use sought to host glamping during TT race periods

A planning application has been submitted seeking permission to convert Ramsey Rugby Club into a temporary glamping site during the TT period for the next five years.

Trailblazer Events Ltd - operating as North Coast Glamping - is proposing a change of use for the Mooragh Promenade site covering the pitch, clubhouse and surrounding area.

The company is applying as a potential tenant rather than a landowner.

Under the plans, the club’s existing sport and leisure facilities would be used to accommodate visitors during the racing fortnight, with no new buildings or alterations to the site layout.

The number of parking spaces would rise from 48 to 150 to support increased demand.

According to the application, drainage, utilities and access arrangements would remain unchanged, and no trees, hedges or surrounding habitats would be affected. The site is not located within a conservation area or a flood-risk zone.

The submission states the proposals are supported by Ramsey Rugby Club, Ramsey Town Commissioners and the government.

Pre-application discussions were held with planning officers earlier in 2025.

If approved, the temporary change of use would apply solely to TT race periods until 2030.
