Public encouraged to do their bit
Today is the start of a three-day volunteer effort to spruce up the Island.
The Great British Spring Clean is taking place all over the British Isles, and two charities here are encouraging you to get involved.
Beach Buddies and Zero Waste Mann are behind the local effort.
Muriel Garland of the latter charity says it can be something as simple as tidying up outside your front door, or coordinating something bigger via groups or organisations.
You can download posters and other resources from the Keep Britain Tidy website, keepbritaintidy.org
