John Needham has been appointed to the position
The Island's High Bailiff has been named the new Second Deemster.
John Needham takes the role over from Andrew Corlett, who was named First Deemster and Clerk of the Rolls in September.
Mr Needham has held the role of High Bailiff since 2010, and previously worked as a solicitor in London.
The official swearing in of the Second Deemster will take place in due course.
As a result of Mr Needham's appointment, applications are now being sought for a new High Bailiff.
