Charity needs to embrace innovation
The chief executive at Isle of Man Hospice has warned the facility is unsustainable in future, unless new ways of providing care are found.
Anne Mills says the funding model for the facility - more than two-thirds from charitable donations - will not meet the needs of a rapidly aging population, long-term.
Mrs Mills has outlined the challenges hospice faces to firms in the Manx BioMed sector - and viewed technology including tele-medicine, which could reach many more people than at present.
She says the hospice needs to embrace innovation and smart-working, if it's to meet expanding need for complex end-of-life care:
