Police condemn lack of care
Police and motorists were left exasperated yesterday, after the Mountain Road was closed and re-opened to traffic - before being shut again within just 12 minutes.
The route was originally closed following concerns over the road surface, which had been damaged overnight.
Engineers worked through the afternoon, and the road was opened at around half past five.
But by quarter to six it was sealed off again, due to a vehicle throwing a large amount of dirt across the road.
Police took to social media urging road users to slow down and 'drive responsibly'.
