There was a familiar winner at the Guild last night – as well as a record-breaker.
Karen Elliott from Peel won her sixth Cleveland Medal at the Villa Marina yesterday evening as the Manx Music Festival drew to a close, the first person to claim the top solo honour that many times.
Karen also led the Women's Institute Choir to victory in the Choir Concert Class yesterday.
The Sheffield Plate – the highest award for the best young voice in the festival – was won by William Shooter, at his very first Guild.
