Four questions for ministers concerning school snow day
Education Minister Daphne Caine will face a series of questions today (Tuesday, 13 January) on why there was a delay in announcing that schools would be closed a week ago.
Ice and snow on Monday, 5 January prompted the decision by a strategic co-ordinating group - but it came some time after the promised 7am.
Four of the questions, featured on a list of twelve, centre on that decision and the reason for the delay.
Another question to Minister Caine is on a claim, by Onchan MHK Julie Edge, that an unnamed school stopped the words to Christmas carols being sung.
Other questions concern the effects of the minimum wage increase and the number of roads closed by damaged trees.
After questions, Keys are scheduled to debate amendments to the Local Government Amendment Bill and hear a statement from Douglas Central MHK Chris Thomas on the lease of an area of seabed for an offshore wind farm project.
In the final item, Onchan MHK Rob Callister will ask members to agree to receive a report into the Bishop's vote, prepared by a Legislative Council Committee.
In the absence of Speaker, Juan Watterson, the session will be chaired by Deputy Speaker Ann Corlett.
