Group finds grounds to oppose proposals
A group hoping to 'save' the horse trams believes it's unearthed a compelling legal argument to do so.
The Department of Infrastructure's latest set of proposals for Douglas Promenade regeneration would see the iconic carriages cease to run between the Villa Marina and Sea Terminal.
But the Friends of Douglas Bay Horse Tramway have now pointed to a range of government policy documents, appearing to earmark the railway's 'unique' and 'special' status.
Spokesman Stuart Mullan said it could hinder the DoI's plans.
