Former Manx Language Development Officer has say on Sir John's address
The Lieutenant Governor's decision to deliver his instructions in English and Manx on Tynwald Hill was 'fundamentally significant'.
That's from former Manx Language Development Officer Phil Gawne says when people in power use the language, it shows how important it is.
It comes as a strategy aims to double the number of Manx speakers on the Island over the next decade.
Mr Gawne believes Sir John Lorimer's example will help with that aim:
Smile of Mann programme to start in primary schools next year
Loganair passengers yet to be reunited with bags left in Manchester on Sunday
Kirk Michael man taking on 31 marathons in 31 days in memory of friend
Government grant partially funded fishing vessel later used for smuggling
