Campaigners welcome falling numbers
A pro-life pressure group says an apparent drop in demand for abortions demonstrates the effectiveness of Manx law.
Humanity and Equality in Abortion Reform (HEAR) has welcomed news that fewer women are traveling off-Island for the procedure - down to 88 last year from over 100 in 2015.
Pro-choice campaigners CALM claim the figures do not account for a growing number of women turning to illegal home abortions.
But HEAR spokesperson Sue Richardson says evidence is needed to back that up:
Mountain Road to stay closed overnight
BMA finds less than a quarter of doctors recommend working at Manx Care
Thirteen people entered or tried to enter the Island without immigration permission since January 2025
Abuse towards bus drivers 'will not be tolerated'
