Public Health says illnesses such as cold and stomach bugs often go away on their own
If you're struck down by a virus, the best thing you can do is take time to recover at home, stay hydrated and maintain good hygiene practices.
That's the latest guidance from Public Health Isle of Man following reports of an increase in bugs circulating in the Manx community.
Public Health says at any point in time there will be some infections circulating in the community, such as Covid-19, colds, flu and stomach bugs like norovirus.
Such illnesses are easily passed from person to person, and while they can be unpleasant they usually go away on their own after a few days.
Anyone who does become unwell is urged to take time to recover at home, drink plenty of water and stay away from people who may be more at risk of severe illness if they become infected.
The organisation also recommends maintaining good hygiene practices to reduce the chance of passing infection to others, including hand washing and wiping down surfaces with disinfectants.
It comes after Manx Care confirmed the number of patients in hospital with coronavirus has dropped to two, after reaching 12 last month.
The healthcare provider did have to reintroduce mandatory face coverings in healthcare settings for a time, but this requirement has since been relaxed.
As a result, Manx Care is urging the public to take precautions and follow Public Health's advice.
