Beach Buddies are having a beach cleaning session in the north of the Island this afternoon (Thurs 21st)
It's at Blue Point from 1.30pm.
Organiser Bill Dale says it's an opportunity for those who cannot make weekend sessions to join them - perhaps for the first time - and it follows several requests for a midweek event.
The Ayres is now fully open for beach cleaning, having been delayed by the nesting season for wild seabirds until the beginning of this month.
As usual, Beach Buddies will provide all the necessary equipment, including gloves, litter pickers and bin bags and will dispose of the rubbish collected.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome, all you need are decent walking boots and a desire to help the environment and wildlife.
The beach is clearly signposted on the coast road close to Andreas.
