But MMCC chair says people shouldn't expect 'major changes'
A new strategy has been put forward by the Manx Motor Cycle Club aimed at securing the future of the Manx Grand Prix for at least the next five years.
It comes ahead of the 2024 event which starts on Sunday and runs until 26 August.
Having celebrated its centenary last year the meeting has seen a number of changes to its format in recent years.
Among those is a shorter nine-day schedule which received some criticism when first brought in in 2022.
The MMCC has maintained since then this new approach helps secure the long-term future of the event.
2023 saw ultra-lightweight 400cc machines invited into the Lightweight race class and in 2024 there's the reintroduction of the Classic Junior MGP race and the launch of a 'Clubman Racing' system.
MMCC Chair John McBride says the proposed new plan - on which he says teams and competitors have been consulted - wouldn't involve any 'major changes'.
However he told Manx Radio there are a number of challenges they have to consider:
