Newcomer killed in MGP practice
A 42 year-old Dutch rider was killed during last night’s (Wednesday) Manx Grand Prix practice session.
Organisers of the meeting, the Manx Motor Cycle Club, has confirmed Dennis Hoffer from Hoogkarspel was killed in an incident near the 13th milestone.
Mr Hoffer, who was single, was a newcomer to the Mountain Course. He had been a regular racer on European circuits since 2009.
The MMCC has extended its deepest sympathy to Dennis’s family and friends.
Meanwhile, another rider Ken Davis – who came off during a separate incident at the 13th milestone, is said to be in a comfortable condition.
He was taken to Noble’s Hospital by helicopter after sustaining fractures.
