It's not known how long it will take for operations at Heysham port to return to normal.
It's after an incident with the Manxman last month has left its usual berth closed while an inspection is carried out to assess any potential damage.
Coaches are now being used to transport foot passengers to and from the terminal which has resulted in some delays.
But Steam Packet Company Managing Director Brian Thomson insists the size of the vessel won't mean incidents like this happen more often:
