Difficulties with legal link to gov't behind decision says charity
One of the Island's only outdoor centres is closing its doors for good.
The charity behind the Ardwhallan Education Centre in West Baldwin has made the announcement on social media today (13 April).
It says it's gone through 'some difficult changes in the past two years' due to its connection to the DESC and 'the legal risks this brings'.
All activities and bookings will therefore cease from 28 of this month.
The only other facility to offer the same range of activities is the Venture Centre, which is independently run in Maughold.
Both the centre and government has been contacted for comment.
