Spat breaks out between sitting Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHKs
A spat has broken out between the sitting MHKs in Arbory, Castletown and Malew.
It's after Tim Glover accused Jason Moorhouse of taking part in 'parasite politics'.
It's a term usually used to describe politicians that attach themselves to larger, more popular mainstream movements simply to survive, gain influence, or win elections.
It seemed to be triggered by a Facebook post shared by Mr Moorhouse, flagging a question he's due to ask in the House of Keys tomorrow (Tuesday 30 June).
He will be asking the Cabinet Office Minister to explain why nicotine pouches are still available to under 18s.
While he added there are 'rumours that the Government wants to resolve this omission from the legislation', Mr Moorhouse will be asking for an update on its progress.
However, Mr Glover shared the post, claiming Mr Moorhouse was 'fully aware' that a bill to progress through all branches in one day is being prepared, adding his question was a 'cynical attempt to try and get some credit'.
"Parasite politicians are not what is needed - this has gone on for several years with these questions."
"Lovely fella, but he has to offer more if he is to be re-elected.
"Please think about who you vote for in September!" - Tim Glover
Mr Moorhouse says the post is 'factually incorrect' and is seeking advice on how best to respond.
We have asked both politicians for a comment.
We are yet to hear back from Mr Moorhouse, but Mr Glover declined, saying his point had been made and was going to leave it to rest.
Mr Glover has announced he will not be seeking re-election in September, while Mr Moorhouse is yet to publicly announce his intention.
