Lord Leveson guest of Law Society
Sir Brian Leveson, the man who led the landmark inquiry into the practices of the British press, is to speak in the Island this week.
One of England's most senior judges, Lord Justice Leveson's inquiry was sparked by the News of the World phone hacking scandal.
He's been invited by the Isle of Man Law Society to give the annual Caroline Weatherill lecture at the Manx Museum on Friday evening.
The event was set up in memory of the respected Manx lawyer who died tragically in 2006
Sir Brian Leveson's theme will be Justice in the 21st Century, and while it's aimed at the legal profession, the public can attend too.
Law Society president Simon Cain says the high-profile Leveson inquiry has made its author a household name.
The lecture is at 6pm this Friday 9 October at the Manx Museum.
Tickets from the Law Society offices in Douglas.
