MUA chairman warns of cost increases
The chairman of the Manx Utilities Authority has warned that the cost of electricity will have to rise.
Speaking in today's Budget debate Rob Callister said the rapid increases in the wholesale cost of gas had put significant pressures on the authority.
That's despite its effective hedging strategy in respect of the purchase of wholesale supplies.
He promised the MUA would continue to minimise price rises wherever possible:
