
'Unprecedented' decision has had to be made to allow fishing to continue
With little over a month to go to the end of the King Scallop fishing season catches to date have been the highest on record.
As of the 22 April almost 83% of the total allowable catch had been landed.
In order to enable fishing to continue until the end of April the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has been forced to take the unprecedented decision to restrict boats to four days a week at sea.
