New aims to be laid before Tynwald
A new strategy on dealing with rubbish is more about practical advice than bold slogans, according to the Infrastructure Minister.
The Department's new Waste Strategy is being laid before Tynwald on Tuesday (17 July).
It's a revised version of an existing strategy, which proposed the nation should become a 'Zero Waste Island' by the year 2020.
The new Waste Strategy seeks a 'more realistic' approach with increased emphasis on kerbside recycling, annual waste audits, and preventing jams at the incinerator.
It comes as the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is formulating its separate strategy on single-use plastics.
