The man who died in a road accident in Bemahague Road, Onchan on Monday afternoon has been named by police.
He was 40-year-old Kevin Michael Madigan from Liverpool.
Mr Madigan suffered fatal injuries when the Suzuki motorcyle on which he was travelling was involved in a collision with another vehicle.
Police have confirmed the other vehicle was a so called 'gully sucker', which removes leaves and other debris from drains in roads.
Another person on the motorcyle was detained in Noble's Hospital for treatment and people in the 'gully sucker' received minor injuries.
It's not clear whether Mr Madigan was the rider or the pillion passenger.
The incident happened at around 3.45pm near the entrance to the Governor's Hill estate and the road was closed for about five hours while police carried out investigations.
Officers are renewing their appeal for anyone who saw the collision to get in touch and anybody with information is asked to ring Police Headquarters on 631212.
