Event taking place in the Island's capital this evening (20 November)
There will be a series of closures around Douglas's shopping district later ahead of the annual Christmas lights switch-on.
The event will get underway at 5:30pm ahead of the lights being switched on at 7pm.
Strand Street and the connecting lanes will be closed from 1pm this afternoon until 6pm tomorrow.
Today also marks the start of late night shopping in the capital, with shops staying open until 9pm every Thursday up until Christmas.
There will be free parking in Douglas Council's Shaw's Brow and Bottleneck car parks every Thursday evening from 5pm to 10pm and each weekend.
Parking will also be reinstated along the Promenade Walkway from today until 8 January.
