Meerkat shipped in to rescue population
Watch out Curraghs - there's a new 'kat in town.
The Wildlife Park has recently welcomed a young male meerkat from Chester Zoo.
It's part of an effort to rejuvinate the Park's breeding programme, after numbers dwindled there.
The new arrival was shipped over by the Steam Packet Company, which also oversaw the departure of two adult Coati to Drusillas Zoo in Sussex.
Keepers at the Curraghs say after some 'bonding', the meerkat has been successfully integrated with the family.
