Could be shut 'for some time'
The Mountain Road has been closed for the remainder of the afternoon, following concerns over the state of its tarmac.
Police have advised the stretch between Barrule Park, Ramsey and the Creg ny Baa will be shut until 6pm, or until engineers have carried out repairs.
Officers believe the road surface presents a 'significant risk' to motorbikes.
Those with travel plans are being asked to reroute their journeys.
