Philip Tomkinson admits being drunk and disorderly to court
A court’s heard how a joiner who drank on an empty stomach ended a night out trying to fight bouncers at a nightclub.
Appearing before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes, Philip Tomkinson of Tynwald Road in Willaston admitted being drunk and disorderly.
Prosecution advocate James Robinson told the hearing Tomkinson was arrested just before 11.30pm that night outside the Courthouse club on Athol Street in Douglas.
Door staff called police because he was drunk and extremely aggressive after being told he couldn’t enter.
Tomkinson was restrained by door staff after telling them he’d smash their faces in and trying to throw a punch.
The hearing at Douglas courthouse was told Tomkinson also shouted racist abuse at one member of security staff after hearing his accent.
His advocate told the court Tomkinson was out with work colleagues, but a planned meal had been called off and the lack of food had contributed to his state.
Mrs Hughes banned him from buying alcohol or going into licensed premises for three months, as well as fining him £400 and ordering him to pay £125 prosecution costs.
