Abrogation: an opportunity for the Isle of Man?

A general election candidate in Rushen says the Isle of Man needs to be quick on its feet to deal with financial challenges.

Dr John Orme served the constituency as an MHK between 1986 and 1991, when he was a member of the then Department of Highways, Ports and Properties.

The 62-year-old barrister says he would only serve one term if he was elected.

Dr Orme says abrogation of the VAT agreement with the United Kingdom could turn into an opportunity for the Island (listen to audio file below):

There are currently five candidates for the three seats in Rushen, namely outgoing MHKs Phil Gawne, Quintin Gill, and Juan Watterson, and challengers John Orme and Laurence Skelly.
