Candidate defends Richmond Hill scheme

A candidate in September's general election has defended his decision to promote a £3 million initiative designed to improve road safety.

David Anderson, who is seeking re-election in Glenfaba, was transport minister when he came forward with plans for the Richmond Hill Improvement Scheme.

Some members voted against it, largely because of the high cost at a time of falling government revenues.

However, on Mandate today (Friday) Mr Anderson insisted it was the right call (listen to audio file below):

There is currently a two-horse race in Glenfaba, involving Mr Anderson and challenger Geoffrey Boot.
