There are still just over 400 miles remaining to the Champs Elysees, and the HTC-Highroad team will not be ordering champagne, but Mark Cavendish stands every chance of being the first Briton on the podium in Paris since Robert Millar was king of the mountains in 1984.
That's after the Manxman secured his fourth win of this year's Tour de France, and 19th overall, with a well-timed sprint at the end of stage 15.
The 'Manx Missile' now has a 37-point lead over Jose Joaquin Rojas in the race for green after the 26-year-old's victory on the 193-km stage from Limoux to Montpellier.
