The Chairman of the Island Games Association of Man says he broadly welcomes a debate about the performance of the Manx team in Rhodes in July, and the selection of squads for future events.
Paul Craine's comments come after Sports Council Chairman Geoff Karran yesterday, on Manx Radio, expressed disappointment at the gold medal tally of eleven achieved earlier in the summer.
Mr Karran went on to say the Island Games are second only to the Commenwealth Games in importance, so selection should reflect that status.
He believes only genuine medal contenders should be sent to represent the Island.
But Paul Craine says measuring success in terms of medals alone is not an exact science:-
