Football: Leading premier league trio all take victories

Colby beat Pulrose to go top of Division 2 

All of the Canada Life Men's Premier League top three claimed victories this weekend to keep things tight at the top of the table in Manx football.

Among Saturday's senior men's clashes, top-flight leaders Corinthians took a narrow 1-0 win at home to St Mary's; Laxey hit nine at Foxdale whilst Onchan earned a dramatic 4-3 comeback victory at Braddan.

It means just two points still separates Corinthians at the top, Laxey in second and Onchan in third with the latter two of those still having a game in hand over Corinthians.

Elsewhere, Colby moved to the top of Ardern & Druggan Ltd. Division 2 with a 3-0 home success over Pulrose United.

The result moves Colby above southern rivals, Castletown who were without a match this weekend and have played a game less.

In the combination divisions, the standout result came in Canada Life Combination One as Ramsey earned a potentially-significant 2-1 win over title rivals, Rushen United at the Ballacloan Stadium.
