The Isle of Man Commonwealth Games Association marked 50 years of competing at the the event on Saturday night with a dinner at Mount Murray.
In attendence were Manx sports stars past and present, officials, politicians and the Lieutenant Governor and his wife.
Among others they heard from guest speaker Steve Parry, the former swimmer who won a bronze medal for Britain at the 2004 Athens Olympics in the 200m butterfly.
He was back on our screens this summer, reporting for the BBC at the Beijing Olympics.
