Island-born driver battles to top-ten place
Island-born racing driver, Nickolas Ellis put in a strong showing as he made his debut on the full circuit at the iconic Le Mans in France.
The competitor from Port Erin went on to finish seventh alongside co-driver, Gabriel Doyle-Parfait during the Ligier European Series JSP4 race on Saturday, 7 June.
After the pairing qualified in ninth place for the Trajectus Motorsport squad for the one-hour race, Doyle-Parfait managed to take them up to fifth before an eight-minute safety car situation halted progress.
At the halfway stage of the contest, Ellis took over with the team in sixth spot and was challenging for a top-five position before a further safety car situation and then Ellis being caught in an incident after full racing had resumed slowed his charge.
Despite damage to the car, Ellis nursed it across the line for the chequered flag to claim seventh place after ten laps.
This was Ellis' maiden appearance on the full 8.467-mile Le Man course having made an appearance at the same venue on the shorter, purpose-built 2.6-mile Bugatti Curcuit in a less powerful Ligier JS2R car in September 2025.
Outside of his racing, Ellis also continues to work as an ambassador with charity, UK Youth, at which former Formula One world champion, Nigel Mansell is the current President.
