IoM Sportsman of the Year named in 36-strong initial lineup
Rugby Union star Bevan Rodd has been selected to be part of England's training squad for this year's Six Nations championship.
The 2023 Isle of Man Sportsman of the Year and former Island resident is one of 20 forwards involved in a training lineup made up of 36 players in total.
Should he make the final cut, Rodd would join teammates in preparations for England's opening tie of the competition away against Ireland on Saturday, 1 February at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
Maro Itoje has already been appointed England senior men's captain whilst Ellis Genge and Jamie George are named as vice-captains.
As well as winning the latest Isle of Man Sportsman of the Year accolade in February 2024, Rodd was also inducted into the Isle of Man Sport Hall of Fame.
In 2023 the former Buchan School pupil helped England to a third-placed finish at the Rugby World Cup in France and at club level helped Sale Sharks to the team's first Gallagher Premiership final in 17 years.
